Sunshine Engineering Works

Our workshop is at number 4, Vaidwadi, which is just off Mavdi Main Road. Rajkot is full of engineering shops, but we’ve been at this specific spot for quite a while now. The name Sunshine Engineering Works was something we liked because it sounded bright, even though the shop itself is usually a bit dark inside. We have a few old lathes and a milling machine that have seen a lot of use over the years. Mavdi Main Road is always noisy with rickshaws and bikes, so you never really get any peace and quiet here. We spend our days making small parts and fixing whatever the local factories bring to us. It’s a lot of manual labor, and we often stay late to finish a job if a customer is in a hurry. There’s a small tea shop two doors down where we go when we need a break from the noise. The floor is always slippery with cutting oil, and we have to be careful where we step. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a salesman. People just know where Vaidwadi is and they find us. We take pride in just doing the work correctly the first time so people come back. It’s a simple life, working with our hands and making sure the dimensions are right on every piece of metal we turn. The tools are old but they still work perfectly fine for what we do.
