Sunita Beauty Parlour

Sunita Beauty Parlour sits right at the Ambawadi Cross Road. If you know this part of Ahmedabad, you know exactly how busy this intersection can get during the day. There is always someone honking their horn or a big bus passing by the window. But once you step inside our door, it feels a bit different. I have been at this location in Ambawadi for a long time now. It is a small space, but we make sure to use every inch we have. I have the mirrors set up so I can see the traffic outside while I am working. It is actually quite interesting to watch the city move while I am doing someone’s hair or threading eyebrows. The walls are painted a simple color, nothing too bright or distracting. We have a few chairs that have been with us since we first opened. They are a bit squeaky these days, but they still work perfectly fine for us. People usually stop in because they are already out doing their shopping or errands in the area. It is a very convenient spot for them. I keep a small radio in the corner, mostly playing the local stations. It fills the silence when we are not talking. Dealing with the dust from the crossroad is a daily chore, and I am constantly wiping down the counters. It is an honest living in a busy part of town. (252 words)
