Sonu Hair Art

Our shop is on the ground floor right at Hatkeshwar Circle, so it’s very easy for anyone to just walk in off the street. We see the people living in Sagar Apartment right across from us coming and going all day long. It’s a good spot in Hatkeshwar because everybody passes through this circle at some point. Inside Sonu Hair Art, we keep things pretty basic. There are the usual chairs, some old magazines for people to flip through, and a small radio that we keep on a low volume. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. We focus on getting the job done for the people who trust us. Ahmedabad summers are tough, so we have a couple of fans that stay on all day long. It gets a bit crowded on Sunday mornings when everyone wants to look sharp for the week ahead. We know most of the people who come in because they live just a few streets away. It’s a friendly place where you can just sit and be yourself. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a place for a haircut and a bit of a chat. When we close the shutters at night, we’re usually pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired because we’ve been productive. That's just the way it goes here at Hatkeshwar.
