Sona Hair Art

Sona Hair Art is located on Raikhad Road in the Khamasa area of Ahmedabad. We are just a short walk from the Khamasa Police Chowky. This is a very old part of the city, and the streets are always narrow and busy. Our shop has been around for many years. It’s not a modern salon with air conditioning or fancy lights. It’s just a small, local hair art shop with some old chairs and a lot of history. I’ve lived and worked in Khamasa my whole life. The people who come here are our neighbors and friends. We spend the day talking about everything under the sun while I cut hair. It can get quite hot in the summer, but we have our fans going. The police from the nearby chowky often stop by for a chat or a quick trim. It’s a very traditional atmosphere here. We don't have a big staff, it’s mostly just me and a helper. We keep our tools sharp and our shop as tidy as we can, given how much dust comes off the road. You won't find us on the internet or in any magazines. We just rely on the people who walk past on Raikhad Road every day. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and it feels good to be part of the Khamasa community for so long. The shop is just a small part of this busy city.
