Shreeram Vidyalaya

Shreeram Vidyalaya is a small school located in Sanand. As the area has grown more industrial over the years, we’ve stayed here as a place for the families who have lived in this part of Gujarat for generations. It’s a straightforward school with a simple philosophy: just come in and do the work. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. The building is basic, with rows of benches and boards that have seen many years of use. Most of our students come from the nearby houses, and their parents often work in the surrounding industries. We know the names of almost every kid who walks through the door. The playground is just a dusty patch of land, but the children don't seem to mind when they are playing cricket or chasing each other during the break. We have a small group of teachers who have been with us for a long time. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors. Some days are slow and others are a bit of a rush, but we just keep the doors open and the lessons moving. It’s our way of contributing to the Sanand community, one day at a time.
