Shree Nathji Stores

You can find Shree Nathji Stores at 828, Khadia in Ahmedabad. We are right near Amritilal`S Pole and the Khadia Gate. If you know this part of the city, you know how narrow the lanes are. It is an old area with a lot of history. The shop itself is quite small and the ceiling is low. I have to duck a bit when I go into the back storage area. It is always busy here because of the gate. There are people walking by, cycles, and cows all squeezed into the same space. I sell mostly daily items and some festive things when the time comes. The air smells like incense and old buildings. I have been sitting in this same spot for years, watching the world go by. The walls are painted a dull yellow that is peeling in some places. I do not mind it. It gives the place character. I have a small picture of the deity on the wall with a fresh garland every morning. My day starts with a prayer and then I open the wooden doors. Customers here like to haggle over a few rupees, and I usually let them win just to keep the peace. It is a community feeling. You do not get that in the big malls. Khadia is a special place, and I am just happy to be a small part of it.
