Shree Khamlai Engineers

Shree Khamlai Engineers is tucked away in the Sakriba Industrial Estate. We are at D-12/13, right behind the Indogerman Tool Room near the Phase-4 water tank in Vatva GIDC. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren’t used to it. We’ve been in this spot for years. Our daily routine involves a lot of metal work and mechanical engineering tasks. The guys on the floor have been with us since the start, mostly. We don’t bother with big meetings or fancy reports. Usually, someone just points at a drawing and we get to work on the lathes or the milling machines. Vatva is a tough place to work sometimes because of the dust and the noise, but it’s where all the action is for engineering. We see a lot of different projects, from small repairs to bigger components for other factories around the GIDC. Our space isn't huge, but we make the most of it by keeping the tools organized, or at least as organized as a busy workshop gets. Sometimes things get backed up when a machine breaks down, but that’s just part of the life. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the jobs during breaks. It’s a straightforward life. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Ahmedabad, just a reliable one that gets the engineering right. If the water tank is in sight, you’re pretty much at our doorstep and can hear the machines running from the road.
