Our high school is tucked away in Valad, which is part of the Gandhinagar district. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, except when the bell rings and all the students rush out. Being in Gujarat, we get some really hot days, so the hallways stay quite cool compared to the outside. The building for Sheth M S Bhanavala High School has been around for some time now. Parents in Valad usually went here themselves back in the day. We have the standard classrooms and a space for morning assembly. It’s not a place with a lot of extra frills. We just focus on the classes and making sure the students follow the rules. The walk to the school is pretty simple for most kids living in the village. You might see a few cows on the way or some local shops opening up. Inside, things are fairly basic. We have a few cupboards full of old records and some maps on the walls. It feels like a proper local school. The staff knows most of the families by name since everyone lives close by. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team.
