Shakti - The Sandwich Shop Bhattha

Shakti - The Sandwich Shop Bhattha is right by the Bhattha Bus Stop in Paldi, specifically at 2 Anand Complex. It’s a busy little corner, especially when the buses pull up and everyone gets off looking for something to eat. We spend most of our time behind the counter, slicing bread and spreading chutney. It gets pretty frantic around lunchtime when the students from nearby or people working in the Zalak Complex come over. The smell of toasted bread and spices is pretty much always there, and sometimes the floor gets a bit messy when we’re in a rush. We don't have a lot of space, so things are tucked into every corner of the shop. It’s not a fancy place to sit, but we have some tables where people can grab a quick bite. The noise from the Paldi Road traffic is constant, but you stop noticing it after an hour or two. We just focus on making the sandwiches the way people like them, with plenty of cheese or whatever they ask for. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with change, but it’s good to see the regulars who come by every single day. We don't really do much advertising; people just see the sign or smell the food and walk in. It’s just us doing our best to keep the toaster going and the customers fed before the next bus arrives.
