K. Mamta Fashion

K. Mamta Fashion is up on the second floor of the Ghantakarna Mahavir Market in Sarangpur. The unit is E- 213. If you have ever been to Sarangpur, you know the market is always packed with people and piles of cloth. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when we are carrying heavy bundles of fabric. Our space is filled with sewing machines and racks of clothes that we have finished. There isn't much room to walk around once we get a big order going. The light isn't the best, but we have some bright tubes fixed over the workstations. We do a lot of wholesale work, so we are usually busy packing things into big plastic bags to be shipped out. It is loud with all the machines running and people shouting to be heard over the noise of the market outside. We don't have a fancy office with a carpet. It is just a concrete floor and a lot of thread everywhere. Sometimes we get a bit behind on the cutting, so we stay late until the market starts to quiet down. We are just one of many shops in this building, but we take our work seriously and try to get the stitching right every time. It is a busy life in the garment trade. If the elevators aren't working, it is even more of a struggle, but we keep moving. That is life here.
