J Kumars Japan Store

We have been running J Kumars Japan Store from the first floor of Shoppers Plaza for quite some time. The shop is number 103, and we’re right across from the Municipal Market on C G Road. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how hectic C G Road can get, especially during the festival seasons or even just on a regular Friday evening. Being on the first floor gives us a little bit of a break from the noise of the street, but it’s still very busy. We call it the Japan Store because we used to bring in a lot of things from over there, and the name just stuck with the locals. The shelves are packed with all kinds of items, mostly electronics and small gadgets that you don't see in the bigger malls. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stock we keep. We don't have fancy displays; we just put things where they fit. People come up the stairs looking for something specific they heard we have. The Municipal Market across the street brings a lot of foot traffic our way. We spend a lot of our day unpacking new shipments and talking to customers who have been coming to us for years. It’s a tight space, and sometimes it gets a bit warm, but it’s our spot. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss or bother.
