Maydhhega Silks

Maydhhega Silks is located at 11/1/5, on the Chinnapampatti Main Road in Malayampalayam, Jalakantapuram. We are right there on the main road, so we see everyone passing through the village. It is a traditional kind of setup. The building is not modern, it is just a local place with a lot of character. Inside, the shelves are filled with silks, and the colors are probably the only bright thing in the room. We do not have fancy glass displays or mannequins. The fabric is mostly folded and stacked high. You can usually hear the sound of the looms or the neighbors talking nearby. Jalakantapuram is known for this kind of work, and we are just one part of that long history. The floors are stone and stay relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the main road. We spend a lot of time unfolding the silks to show the patterns and then folding them back up carefully. It is slow work. There is usually a faint smell of incense and old wood in the air. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us here, talking to the locals and whoever stops by while traveling on the Chinnapampatti road. We keep a simple ledger and a small cash box. It is a quiet life, mostly, just surrounded by silk and the daily rhythm of the road outside. We have been here for years.
