Sakhi N Creation

Getting to our spot at Sakhi N Creation takes a bit of a walk since we are up on the second floor of Sumel Business Safal 3. Being near the New Cloth Market in Raipur means it is always crowded around here. You can hear the carts rattling on the ground floor all day long. We have been in this unit, C-204, for a while now. The space is filled with different fabrics and half-finished pieces. Some days it feels like there is not enough room for all the boxes, so we have to stack them high near the back wall. The air in Raipur is usually a bit dusty because of all the traffic. We keep a small stove for making tea because everyone who drops by expects a cup. Our neighbor runs a similar business and sometimes we borrow their packing tape when we run out. It is a simple setup with a few tables and chairs for when we need to sit down and check the inventory. The windows don’t let in much breeze, so the ceiling fans stay on from morning until we lock up. It is mostly just about getting the work done and making sure everything is in its place before we head home. The walk down the stairs at the end of the day is usually the quietest time. It feels good to finally step outside.
