Saibaba Glass & Aluminium

Our shop is over here at Adishwar Complex right near the Saibaba Temple on Ankur Road. Most people in Naranpura know the area well enough. We spend the day working with glass sheets and aluminum sections which can get pretty loud when the saws are running. There are scraps of metal on the floor most of the time because we are always cutting pieces to size for windows or office partitions. It is not a very tidy place but that is just the nature of this kind of work. People come to us when they need a sliding window fixed or if they are putting up a new frame in their shop. We do a lot of measuring and re-measuring to make sure things fit right. The heat gets a bit much in the afternoon but we just keep going. We have various types of glass like the frosted kind or the plain thick ones for table tops. Sometimes we have to go out to someone’s house to install things and that takes up a lot of the day. The traffic on Ankur Road is usually heavy so getting materials delivered can be a bit of a headache. We don’t have a big team just a few of us who know how to handle the glass without cracking it. It is hard work on the hands but we’ve been doing it a long time now. We usually close for a bit during lunch time to get some peace from the noise.
