Sai Kitchen General Stores sits right in the middle of a busy patch in Ahmedabad 380001. We have been here for a good while now, selling mostly things you would need for the house. It is not a huge place, so things tend to get piled up quite high. If you need a specific type of container or maybe just some soap, we usually have it tucked away somewhere. The morning rush is always the busiest because everyone is trying to get their chores done before the afternoon heat kicks in. I usually spend my time sitting near the front, keeping an eye on the street and chatting with whoever stops by. The shelves are a bit old and maybe a little crooked, but they hold everything just fine. We do not really do much advertising or anything. People just know we are here. Sometimes the stock takes a few days to arrive, so we just make do with what is on the floor. It is a lot of work keeping track of all the little items, but it keeps us busy. My neighbor from the next shop over often comes by for a cup of tea in the slow hours. We talk about the weather or how the local roads are always under repair. It is a noisy life but it feels right for us. We just try to keep things moving along without too much fuss or trouble.
