Rangoli International School

Our school, Rangoli International School, is located right on the Gandhinagar Mota Chiloda Highway. It is a pretty straightforward spot to find if you are driving out toward Chiloda. Being near the highway means there is a lot of dust that settles on the windows every single day. We have someone who tries to wipe them down, but it is a losing battle. The weather in Gandhinagar gets really hot, so during the summer, everyone is just looking for a bit of shade under the porch. The school building itself is quite large, but it feels lived-in. There are scuff marks on the stairs and drawings taped to the walls that have been there for months. We do not really go for that polished, corporate look because that is not who we are. We are just teachers and office staff trying to make sure the schedule holds up. Sometimes the printer jams or the internet goes out because of the wind, and we just have to figure it out as we go. The kids come from the nearby areas and the local villages. You can hear them shouting on the playground from a mile away when the wind is right. It is a normal place with normal problems. We just show up, do the work, and hope the kids remember at least half of what we told them. It is a lot of routine, but it is our routine here in Gujarat.
