I've been here at Shivam Complex for a while now. It's on the first floor, shop F 122. You might know the spot, it's right on Science City Road in Sola. Opposite us is the Hetarth Party Plot, which gets pretty loud sometimes when there's a big event or a wedding going on. The stairs up to the shop can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them, but once you're inside, it’s just a normal place. I keep the mirrors clean and make sure the chairs are comfortable enough for someone sitting for an hour. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others working here. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. Ahmedabad gets so dusty, so I'm always wiping down the glass windows. Sometimes the tea guy comes by around four and we take a quick break. It isn't a fancy place with bright flashing lights or anything like that. Just a shop where we do threading, facials, and hair stuff. The light comes in really nicely in the afternoons through the front. If you're coming from the main road, you just look for the Shivam sign and come up. My tools are organized on the little rolling cart, and I try to keep the floor swept between every person. It’s a busy street out there, especially in the evenings when everyone is headed home. I just focus on the job and getting through the day.
