Asha Engineering

You will find Asha Engineering over at 8 Union Estate, tucked behind the Gujarat Bottling plant. We are close to the Rameshwar Park BRTS and that famous Kaka Ni Bhajipav place, which is where we usually get our lunch. The workshop is a bit loud because of the machines, and there is always a smell of grease and metal in the air. It is not a place where you would want to wear a nice shirt. We have got lathes and drills and piles of scrap metal in the corners. My brother and I started this quite a few years back. We mostly do repairs or make small parts for other businesses around here. It is messy work, and our hands are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning. We don't have a fancy office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and the phone. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet for a bit, which is actually kind of nice. We have seen this area change a lot since the BRTS came in. More traffic, more people. But inside the shop, things stay pretty much the same. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get the pieces to fit right. It is simple engineering, nothing too high-tech, just good old-fashioned mechanical work that keeps the local machines running.
