Our office is tucked away in Premium House, right over by the Mithakhali Railway Crossing. If you know that area of Ahmedabad, you know it stays pretty active throughout the day. We are up on the fourth floor in unit B/405. The building has been around for a while, and it feels like a regular part of the neighborhood. We show up every morning, usually dodging the traffic at the crossing, and settle into our routine. Inside, it’s mostly just us and a lot of paperwork. There isn’t any flashy decor or modern art on the walls. We have our desks, our computers, and plenty of shelves for everything we need to keep track of. Sometimes when a train goes by, you can hear it, but we hardly notice it anymore. It’s just part of the background noise of working in Mithakhali. We’ve been here long enough that the local tea stall guy knows exactly what we want when we call down. The space isn't huge, but it fits what we do. We spend our hours going through documents and talking to people who come in for help. It’s a straightforward kind of life here. We don’t spend much time worrying about the look of the office as long as the work is accurate. Ahmedabad is a fast city, but inside these four walls, things move at a steady, quiet pace.
