Our office is tucked away in Navrangpura, right near the Swastik Cross Roads. If you’re familiar with the Mirch Masala restaurant, we are just a short walk from there inside the Swastik Centre. It is a really busy part of Ahmedabad, so there is always a lot of noise and movement outside our windows. Most of our days are spent looking at blueprints or picking out materials that will actually last more than a few years. Being based in 32 B for this long means we have watched the whole neighborhood change. We handle the architecture side and the interior design, which keeps the team pretty busy. It isn't always glamorous work because there is so much measuring and re-measuring involved. Being sensible about how to use a space is important to us. When a room is small, we don't try to cram too much into it. Usually, it's just about making sure the lights are in the right spots and the walls are the right color. All sorts of people walk through our doors looking for help with their homes or offices. We avoid anything too flashy, sticking to stuff that actually works for people. Sometimes a design takes days to figure out, but eventually, the right idea clicks into place. We are just a regular group of people working in a crowded city, trying to do right by the folks who hire us. Late nights happen, but we don't mind when the result is solid.
