P. Bhogilal Associates

P. Bhogilal Associates is based on the first floor of 113 Chittaranjan Avenue. This part of Kolkata is always moving, with cars and taxis honking all day long on the main road. Our office is one of those old-style places with high ceilings and heavy doors that have seen better days. We’ve been here for quite a while, and the walls are mostly lined with files and folders from years of steady work. It’s not the kind of place with modern art or glass partitions. We have wooden desks and chairs that have been around as long as some of the senior staff. Most of our day involves talking on the phone, checking through documents, and meeting people who drop by for business. We don't use a lot of fancy words or corporate talk to describe what we do. We just handle the tasks that come our way and try to stay on top of the paperwork. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is something we all look forward to during the long afternoons. Being on the first floor is nice because we don't have to wait for the lift, which can be a bit temperamental in these old CR Avenue buildings. It gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks. It’s a very traditional way of working, but it suits us just fine. We know the neighbors and the local shops, and we just keep doing our thing year after year.
