Raju Kirana

Our family runs this shop at plot 174/12 right in the vegetable market area of Gandhinagar. We are very close to the main road, so it gets quite loud and busy, especially in the early mornings when the supply trucks come in. Being inside the market means we see a lot of people every day. We keep the usual things people need for their kitchens, like pulses, rice, soaps, and different oils. It is a small space, so things are stacked pretty high on the wooden shelves. Sometimes you have to wait a minute while we find exactly what you asked for behind another crate. We have been here for years, and most of the people who come in are our neighbors or other vendors from the market getting their own supplies. It is not a supermarket where you walk around with a cart. You just come to the counter, tell us what you need, and we weigh it out or grab the packet for you. The floor gets a bit dusty because of all the sacks of grain, but that is normal for a kirana store in a busy market. We try to keep everything stocked so nobody has to go far to find their daily essentials. If we run out of something, we usually have it back in a day or two. It is just a simple shop, nothing more to it than that. We open early and close when the market slows down at night.
