Our shop is over at New York Corner, right on the S G Highway in Bodakdev. We are on the ground floor at shop number eight, which makes it easy for people to just pop in without climbing any stairs. It is right near Jay Sambhu. The highway outside is always loud with traffic, but once you step inside, it is just the sound of scissors and the radio playing some music. We have been at this spot for a while now. Most people come in for a quick hair cut or a shave before they head off to work. It is a small space, but we make it work with what we have. We keep our combs and clips organized on the counters, though things get a bit messy when we have a rush. Ahmedabad gets so dusty, so we are always wiping down the glass. We are not doing anything fancy here, just basic hair work. Some guys come in every two weeks, while others we only see once a month. It is nice seeing the same faces. We do not spend money on big signs or anything. The regulars know where we are. Usually, someone is sitting on the bench waiting their turn while we chat about the weather or the cricket scores. It is just a normal day-to-day business for us. We keep the doors open and just do our job until it is time to close up.
