R Vastram is tucked away at No. 185 in Revdi Barar. If you are familiar with the Kalupur area, you already know how crowded and busy it gets every single day. We are right in the middle of all that noise in Kotnirang. It’s a narrow area with lots of shops squeezed together and people everywhere you look. Our place is fairly small but we make sure to use every single inch of space we have. We deal with various textiles and clothing items. The shelves are packed tight with rolls of cloth reaching up to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to even move around the room when we have just received a new delivery. We’ve been in this market for a very long time now. It’s mostly a family thing that has been passed down. We don't do any big advertising or social media. People usually find us just by walking through the narrow lanes and asking around. The smell of the market is always present—a mix of tea, street food, and old fabric. We don't have air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that make a lot of noise. We prefer to talk to our customers face-to-face. No fancy apps or emails for us. We write every single order down in our big physical books. It’s the way it has always been done in this part of town. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a cart, and we just have to wait. It takes patience to work here, but we don't mind it.
