Product Engineering Industry

Out here in the Sidco Estate in Ambattur, at 93-A, you’ll find our workshop. Product Engineering Industry has been sitting in this spot for years, and the building has seen better days, but the machines inside work just fine. We have a lot of heavy equipment taking up most of the floor space, leaving just enough room for us to walk between the lathes and the drills. The smell of machine oil is pretty much stuck in our clothes by the time we go home. Ambattur is a big industrial hub, so there is always a lot of activity nearby, with trucks coming in to drop off raw materials. We do a lot of small-scale engineering work, making parts that go into bigger machines. It’s a lot of measuring and double-checking things to make sure they fit. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us covered in a bit of grease. We keep a ledger to track everything because computers can be a bit of a headache sometimes. Lunch is usually eaten together in the small back room or sometimes we go out to the local tea stall. It’s a steady kind of life, working with our hands and making sure the parts we produce are what the customer asked for. We don’t do much advertising, mostly people just know we are here and they bring their drawings to us. It is honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night.
