We’ve been here at 1/4, Palace Road for quite a while now. Most days it’s just us getting on with the work, making sure the extrusions we produce are what people actually asked for. It isn’t always glamorous or exciting, but it’s what we know how to do. The machines can be noisy and the floor gets busy, but that’s just how a workshop is. We don't really do the whole fancy office thing. Usually, you’ll find one of us near the back checking the dies or sorting out a shipment that needs to go out by the afternoon. It’s a bit cramped sometimes with all the metal around, but we manage. If someone stops by the gate, we usually just walk over and see what’s needed. People around here know the building, even if they don't always know exactly what goes on inside. We just stick to our schedules and try to keep things moving. There’s always something to fix or a measurement to double-check before the day ends. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the real work happens right here on the floor. It’s just a small group of us trying to get things right. Palace Road has changed a bit over the years, but we’re still doing the same basic stuff. It's steady work and it keeps us occupied from morning until we lock up in the evening.
