Persian Rugs Manufacturers

We make rugs here in Shiv Nagar, right off the G.T. Road in Gopiganj. This area is known for this kind of work, and we’ve been at it for years. It’s a lot of manual labor, really. You won't find many computers here, just the looms and the wool and the people who know how to use them. The dust from the yarn gets everywhere, especially when it’s dry outside. We spend our days watching the patterns take shape. It’s slow work. You can’t rush a rug if you want it to look right. Some of the workers have been here since they were young, learning from their fathers. It's a bit loud with the sounds of the looms going, but it’s a steady rhythm. The G.T. Road is always busy outside, but once you step inside the workshop, it feels a bit different. We aren't trying to be the biggest manufacturer in India. We just want to finish the orders we have on time. Sometimes the colors don't come out exactly how we expected from the dye, so we have to adjust. It's a lot of back-and-forth. We store the finished pieces in the back until they are ready to be sent off. It’s heavy work, moving those big rolls around. We drink a lot of tea while we work. It’s just how things are done in Gopiganj. We stay busy and keep the looms moving. There’s always a new pile of wool arriving at the gate.
