You can find us at 66, near the Kpr Over B in Ahmedabad. This is a very old part of the city and it gets incredibly busy during the day. The heat in Ahmedabad is no joke, so we spend a lot of time drinking tea and trying to stay in the shade of the shop. We carry the basic essentials that everyone needs for their daily cooking. Things like different types of lentils, spices, and cooking oil are our main items. The shop has been in this spot for quite a while and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We don't bother much with how things look as long as we have what the customers are looking for. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sacks and weighing out portions into plastic bags. The noise from the street is constant with all the vehicles and people shouting. We know most of the regular shoppers by their names and what they like to buy. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone from the house sitting at the counter. We don't use any fancy technology, just a basic calculator and our memory. It’s a simple way of doing things in a crowded, noisy city. We just open up and do our work until it's time to go home. We hope to stay here for many more years.
