You can find us at Platinum Plaza on Judges Bunglow Road in Bodakdev. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad, so there’s always something going on outside our window. We’ve been here for a good while, selling sarees to the local families. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of every inch. We have cupboards full of different materials, and we spend a lot of time showing them to customers who come in. It’s a lot of manual work, pulling down heavy boxes and laying out the fabric so people can see the patterns. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird clicking noise, but it keeps the place cool enough. We usually have some music playing in the background, nothing too loud. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets crowded. We see a lot of people getting ready for weddings or big festivals. They come in with their mothers and sisters, and it gets quite lively. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us. We keep our own books and do the cleaning ourselves every morning before we open. The street outside is always full of cars and people walking, which keeps us on our toes. It’s a simple business, really. We just buy the sarees, stock them, and sell them to whoever walks through the door. If you’re around Bodakdev, you’ll likely pass right by us without even realizing it.
