P. N. Brothers

P. N. Brothers is located right in the middle of Manekchowk, specifically in Dedkani pole. If you’ve ever walked through these narrow lanes, you know it’s a maze. Chokshi Bhavan is where we spend our days. It’s a tight space, but it’s ours. The building is old and holds a lot of history, much like the rest of the area. We’ve been operating from here for a long time. Our family started this, and we just keep it going. There’s no big signage or flashing lights. People find us because they know the name or someone told them where the pole is. Most of the morning is spent cleaning the dust and getting things ready for the day ahead. Manekchowk is noisy, especially when the markets get going, but inside the office, it’s a bit quieter. We deal with people face to face mostly. It’s all about trust here. We don’t use fancy software for everything; some things are still done the old way because it works and we understand it. The chai wallah comes by twice a day and that’s when we take a break together. It’s a small operation. We aren't looking to expand into some big glass building. We like it here in the heart of the city. The stairs are steep and the hallways are narrow, but it’s where we belong. We just do our bit every day and go home when the sun sets.
