New Manav Hair Saloon is on the upper level of the building at Bhagat Ni Chali. We are quite close to Swastik Cross Road in the Navrangpura area. To find us, you have to look for Chamunda Snacks; we are right above them. You can usually smell whatever they are frying downstairs, which makes us very hungry by lunchtime. Being next to Fairdeal House helps people pinpoint exactly where we are on the block. Since we are on the upper level, you have to walk up some narrow stairs to reach us. It is a bit of a climb, but the view of the street from our front window is good for people-watching. The shop is narrow and we have packed in as many chairs as we comfortably could. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front glass, so we keep the curtains half-drawn to help. We have been in Ahmedabad for a long time, and this spot has worked out well for us. Most of our customers work in the offices nearby and pop in during their lunch breaks or right after they finish for the day. We do not have any fancy receptionists at the door. You just come up the stairs, see if a chair is free, and let us know what you need. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are waiting, but we manage.
