Monopole Salon & Hair Replacement Centre sits in Anupam 2 Complex. We are right opposite Fairdeal House in Navrangpura. It is a busy spot near Swastik Cross Road. I started this place years ago because I saw many men struggling with hair loss. We don’t just do haircuts; the hair replacement side is a big part of what we do every day. It’s a small shop, not one of those shiny ones you see in the malls. The chairs are getting a bit old now, but they are still comfortable enough for a quick trim. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling sound, but it keeps us cool in the Ahmedabad heat. I work here with two other guys. We spend most of our time chatting with the regulars who have been coming to us for a decade. It’s not about being fancy here. We just try to make people feel a bit better about their hair. Navrangpura has changed a lot, with new shops opening all the time, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the sign while they are stuck in traffic at the cross road. It is honest work and we enjoy the daily routine of it. If you need a patch fixed or a simple cut, we are usually around from morning till dinner time.
