Miss India Fashions

Miss India Fashions is on the 1st floor of the Chennu Building, which is at No. 11 in D.S. Lane, Chickpet. If you know Chickpet, you know how packed the lanes are. It is a struggle just to get through the crowds sometimes, especially when people are hauling big bags of cloth around. Our shop is up a narrow set of stairs. Once you get inside, it's a completely different world filled with colors and stacks of clothing. We don't have a lot of space, so we use every inch of the walls for storage. It’s a bit messy with threads on the floor and open boxes everywhere. We spend our time talking to vendors and showing pieces to people who drop by. There’s no fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. We drink a lot of water because it gets stuffy with all that fabric around. The building itself is old, and you can hear the noise from the street below all the time. It is a lively place to be, even if it’s exhausting. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us making sure the orders are right and the stock is moving. We handle the hustle of the market every day. It's not always pretty, and things get chaotic during the festival seasons, but that is just how business goes in Chickpet.
