Maruti Hair Salon

We are situated at Jay Hind Cross Road over in Maninagar. The shop is number one right there on the corner. It is a very easy place to find because we are quite close to Doon School and the Uttam Nagar Garden is just nearby. You can usually see people walking their dogs or heading to the garden for a stroll in the evenings. Maninagar is always moving and the cross road gets quite a lot of traffic during the rush hours. We open up the shutters every morning and start getting things ready for the first few people who show up. The chairs are lined up against the wall and the mirrors are big so you can see everything. We have the usual stuff like clippers and spray bottles sitting on the counters. It isn't a fancy place with expensive decorations but it is clean and honest. Sometimes we have the radio playing quietly in the background or just the sound of the traffic from outside. The garden nearby brings a bit of a breeze if the wind is blowing the right way. We see a lot of students from the school and people who live in the nearby flats. It is a steady job and we like being part of this neighborhood. Most days are the same but we enjoy the talk and the familiar faces that come in every month. We just keep working until it is time to close up.
