Odhav is one of those classic industrial areas where you can see the history of the local trade in the walls of the buildings. Our unit at L-133 is a straightforward engineering shop. It is the kind of place where your hands are going to get dirty within the first five minutes of arriving. We have our lathes and other equipment set up to maximize the space we have, which is not always a lot when a big project comes through the door. The noise in the G.I.D.C Estate is constant—hammers, motors, and the sound of heavy trucks moving through the narrow lanes. It is just the background music to our day. Most of the people working here have years of experience under their belts, so they do not need a lot of direction; they just know what to do. We usually have a pot of tea going somewhere in the back for when we take a breather. We do not have a fancy reception area or a polished showroom.
