Mahalaxmi Sports & Toys

If you find yourself wandering through Kalupur, you might end up near Raja Mehtani Pole on Tankshal Road. That's where we are, right near Toda Pole. Our shop, Mahalaxmi Sports & Toys, is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things. We have cricket bats leaning against the walls and boxes of toys stacked up wherever they fit. It gets a bit cramped inside, especially on weekends when parents bring their kids in. We try to keep everything sorted, but with so many small items, things sometimes end up in the wrong spots. My family has been running this place for years. We grew up around these shelves. You won’t find any fancy displays here, just rows and rows of gear and games. Some of the boxes might be a bit dusty on the top shelf because they’ve been there a while, but that's just the nature of a local shop in this part of town. People from the surrounding poles come to us when they need a new football or a board game for a rainy afternoon. We know most of our customers by name, or at least we recognize their faces. It’s a busy, noisy street outside, and that energy usually carries right into the store. We don't spend much on advertising; people just know where we are. We're usually behind the counter from morning until late evening, helping people find whatever they’re looking for to keep their kids busy or get some exercise.
