Kony Industries

We are out at Kony Industries, located at Plot No. 55 in the Ashwamegh Industrial Estate. Being right on the Sarkhej-Bavla Highway in Changodar means there is a lot of heavy traffic and big lorries passing by all the time. Our building is a typical factory shed, quite big and hot in the summer months. We have the machines running on the main floor and a small space for the office staff near the front door. The ground is concrete and a bit cracked in places. We spend most of our time checking the production lines and making sure everything is moving along. There’s always the smell of grease and metal in the air. We eat our lunch together in a small break area that has a few plastic chairs and a table. It’s an industrial life, so it isn't very pretty or quiet. We handle a lot of shipments coming in and going out, so the gate stays busy. Sometimes the dust from the highway blows into the yard and covers everything. We just sweep it out and keep working. It’s a practical place where we focus on getting the orders ready. There isn't much to it besides the work and the daily routine of the estate. Most of the people working here live nearby and we see the same faces every day. It's just simple hard work.
