Mahalaxmi Hair Style is tucked away in Gopal Nagar Sector-4. We are on Loyola School Road in the Memnagar area. Being near Vallinath Chowk makes us easy to find. The shop is just a single room with the basic things we need for hair cutting. I took over the business from my father, and I’ve been working here ever since I was a young man. We have a few old chairs that have been reupholstered a couple of times. The walls are mostly covered with mirrors so the space feels a bit larger than it really is. Since the school is nearby, we get a lot of students in the afternoons. They usually want whatever style is popular on TV at the moment. We try our best to follow their requests, even if the styles look a bit strange to us. The power goes out sometimes in this part of Memnagar, but we just keep the door open for the sunlight and keep working. We don't have a computer or any fancy booking system. We just write things down in a small notebook if we have to. It’s a very local spot. Most of the men in Sector-4 come to us because they know they can get a quick cut and have a chat about the neighborhood. We are not trying to be a high-end salon. We are just a neighborhood barber shop that has been here for years. Come by if you need a cut.
