Mahak General Store

Mahak General Store is located on the 14th floor in Ratanpole, Ahmedabad. It is right near the Bank of Baroda, which is the easiest way to find us if you are new to the area. Being on an upper floor means you have to walk up some steps, but people don't seem to mind much. Ratanpole is always crowded with shoppers and scooters, so our little shop feels like a bit of a hideaway from all that noise. We keep all kinds of small things people need for their homes. It is a bit of a jumble sometimes, with boxes stacked near the entrance, but we know where everything is. My brother and I run the place mostly. We have been here for a long time, so we know the other shopkeepers around the bank quite well. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Ahmedabad, just a reliable one for the folks who shop in this area. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but it stays cool even when it is very hot outside. We spend our afternoons drinking chai and waiting for the evening rush to start. It is a quiet business, really. We just sell what we have and try to be helpful when someone can't find a specific household item. No big marketing plans here, just keeping the door open every day and serving whoever walks in.
