Kutz Salon. You can find us at 14 Mangalmurti Society in the Ghodasar area. We are very close to the Ghodasar Cross Road, which means there is always a lot of traffic and movement nearby. The shop is part of the residential society, so we get a lot of neighbors coming in. I usually get here early to open the shutters and get the water ready. It's a decent-sized space and we try to keep it neat, though hair gets everywhere as soon as we start. People in Ghodasar are mostly working class or families, so we see all sorts of people. Some want a very short cut for the heat and others want something they saw on TV. We just do what they ask. The crossroad is always loud with horns and bikes, but inside the shop, it's a bit more relaxed. We have some chairs and a small waiting area where people read the paper while they wait their turn. We’ve been at this location for some time now and have seen the shops around us change owners, but we are still here in Mangalmurti. It’s not a complicated business, just cutting hair and making sure people leave looking okay. We don't use big words or try to act like we are in a movie. It's just a regular salon for regular people in Ahmedabad. We keep our tools sharp and the shop open late until the last person is satisfied and heads home.
