Kirana Super Store

We are located at Plot No. C-12 in the Monalisha Apartment building. This is over in the Shahibag area, quite close to the Sujata Flats. It’s a residential part of town, so things are usually a bit quieter here compared to the big main market roads. Our store is basically just a part of the apartment block. We serve the people who live in Monalisha and the surrounding buildings. It’s a small space, so we have to be smart about where we put things. Sometimes the boxes are stacked right up to the ceiling and you have to reach way up. It’s not a fancy supermarket with wide aisles and bright signs. You might have to squeeze past someone else to get to the lentils or the soap. The floor is just plain cement and the shelves are made of simple wood that has seen better days. We don't have a lot of help, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. We know the names of the kids who come in to buy sweets and we know which brand of tea the ladies in the upstairs flats prefer to buy. It’s a very local way of doing things. The light comes in through the front door and we usually leave it open to catch the breeze. We aren't looking to expand or become a big chain or anything. We just like being the local shop that everyone in Shahibag can rely on.
