Khodiyar Beauty And Hair Parlour is up on the upper level of Panchdeep Apartment at A/G-1. We are right near the Management Enclave Cross Road in Vastrapur, not far from Nehru Park. Being on the upper level gives us a bit of a view of the street below. We can see people heading towards the park or waiting at the crossroad from our window. The shop isn't very big, but it has everything we need to get the job done. We have the usual chairs and a section for beauty work with curtains for some privacy. The walls are painted a light color to make the room feel bigger. We spend a lot of time in the morning getting the towels ready and making sure the water is running right. Vastrapur is a busy part of Ahmedabad, so there is always a hum of cars and scooters outside. Our customers are mostly local women and families from the apartments around Nehru Park. Some have been coming to us since we first opened. We don't have a fancy entrance, just the door at the top of the stairs. It’s a quiet place most of the time, except when the hair dryers are running. We just focus on the work and keep the shop tidy. It’s a simple life running a parlour in this part of town, watching the seasons change through the glass while we work.
