Being over at Plot No. 231 on Road No. 2 means we see a lot of the same neighbors every day. We handle food products here. It is quite different from the chemical plants or steel shops down the street because we have to keep everything much cleaner. You won’t see piles of scrap metal here. Instead, there are bags of ingredients and packing materials. Most of the staff has been with us for years. We spend the day watching the machines fill containers or sealing up bags. Sometimes the smell of what we are making travels outside and people stop to ask what it is. It isn’t a huge operation but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. The floor gets washed down constantly. We have to be careful about the temperature too, especially when it gets humid in the Gidc. Our office is just a couple of desks shoved into the front room where we take calls and handle the paperwork for the deliveries. We aren't trying to be some giant global corporation. We just want to make sure the food we pack is handled right and goes out on time. The delivery trucks usually show up right after lunch and that’s when the place gets the most chaotic. Everyone knows their job and we just get on with it without much fuss. It is a simple life but it is steady work for everyone involved in the company.
