Rock Engineers

If you come down to Shaymsundar Market, you’ll find us at No. 61. Rock Engineers is right near the S.t Work Shop, so there is always the sound of metal hitting metal and engines revving nearby. We are tucked into the Karma Estate, behind the Kathwada Gidc area. It’s an industrial part of town, so things stay pretty gritty. Our shop is full of tools, oily rags, and parts that we are working on. There isn’t much in the way of decoration here. We have a few old calendars on the walls and a workbench that’s been used for years. Most days we are just hunched over a project, trying to get the measurements right. The air smells like grease and burnt electricity, which is just how an engineering shop should be. Saijpurbogha can be a bit chaotic with all the traffic, but once you get inside the estate, it’s all about the work. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the heat from the machines. Sometimes we sit out on the steps during lunch just to get some air. We’ve been in this spot at Kathwad for a good while and the neighbors are all doing similar things. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but we just keep at it. No one here cares about being fancy, we just want things to run. The floor is always a bit stained, but that is part of the job.
