Kasab Exclusive Saree

We are located in Goyel Tower, specifically shops 11 and 12, right on University Road. It’s a busy spot because of the university being so close, so there are always students and people walking past our windows. Being opposite the Gulbai Tekra Police Chowki makes it easy to give directions to people who haven't visited us before. The shop stays quite cool inside even when the Gujarat sun is beating down on Kokilaben Vyas Marg. We spend the morning unpacking new sarees and folding them back up into those neat squares. Sometimes it feels like we spend half the day just refolding things that customers wanted to see. We have these big mirrors on the walls and bright lights so people can see the thread work clearly. The floor is marble and we try to keep it clean, but with people coming in and out all day, it’s a constant battle. We keep a stash of water bottles in the back for when the regulars come in to sit and look through the piles. It’s a steady kind of work. Not much changes from year to year, except maybe the patterns on the fabric. We like being in this part of town. It’s got a good energy to it, especially in the evenings when the street lights come on and the traffic picks up. We usually lock up around eight and head home to our families, ready to do the same thing again the next morning without much fuss or bother.
