Kailash Hair Art

We are located on Dariapur Road, right across from the Dariapur Gate. It’s an old part of Ahmedabad with a lot of history and narrow streets that are always full of life. Kailash Hair Art is a small place but we’ve been here long enough that everyone knows where to find us. The shop has a certain feel to it, like an old friend’s house. We have the usual setup with mirrors that have seen many years of service. Every morning we open up and the first thing we do is clean the front step because of all the dust from the road. The traffic passing by the gate can be very loud, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. We get people from all walks of life coming in here. Some are in a hurry and others want to sit and talk for an hour. We don’t mind either way. We have a routine of sharpening our tools and keeping the towels fresh that we never skip. It’s a very practical business. The light in the evenings is actually quite nice when it hits the old buildings outside. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid place to get a haircut and maybe hear some local news. It’s been a part of this community for a long time and we just keep doing what we do every day. It's home for us.
