Johnson Engineering Co.

We have been operating Johnson Engineering Co. out of Factory Number 16 in Kamal Estate for quite some time now. You can find us right near Bombay Conducter on Ghodasar Road in the Vatva GIDC area. It’s a busy industrial neighborhood and we fit right in with the noise and the dust. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside but inside we have the lathes and machines running most of the day. There are about six of us working here currently. We handle a lot of metal components and basic engineering jobs that come our way from other local businesses in the estate. Most mornings start with tea and a quick look at the drawings before the machines get turned on. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months here in Ahmedabad. We don't really have a fancy office or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find the boss on the shop floor helping out with the bigger parts. We try to keep things organized but a machine shop always ends up a bit messy with oil and metal scraps everywhere. It’s just the way it goes when you’re actually making things. If you are coming to visit, look for the big blue door near the conductor building. We are usually here until late evening. It’s just how the work goes for us.
