If you go to Raipur and look opposite Kameshwar Pole, you’ll find Jay A Be Hair Style. We’re very close to Raipur Chakla, which is a busy part of the old city. The shop is in one of those older buildings with a lot of character. It’s a tight space, but we’ve managed to fit a couple of chairs in there. We mostly do quick haircuts and shaves for the local guys. It’s a noisy area with all the rickshaws and people walking by, so there’s always something to look at through the door. We don't have any fancy signs, just the name painted above the entrance. Inside, we have some posters of Bollywood stars on the walls to give people ideas for styles, though most just ask for the usual short back and sides. The towels are always being washed and hung out to dry. We use a lot of talcum powder and aftershave, so the shop always smells a certain way. It’s a bit of a landmark for the people living in the Pole. We've seen the city change a lot from this little spot. The traffic has gotten worse, but our customers still find their way to us. We don't take appointments; you just show up and wait your turn. It’s the old way of doing things. We like it that way. It keeps things simple and honest for everyone.
