J. V. Engineering

J. V. Engineering is based at 32, Abhishree Industrial Estate. We are right near the Grand Vishala Estate, which most people use as a landmark when they are trying to find us. It’s close to the Vastral Ring Road in the Odhav area. This part of the city is always moving. You can hear the traffic from the ring road most of the day, but once you get inside the estate, it’s a different kind of noise. It’s the sound of people working on parts and fixing things. Our unit is just one of many in this row. We spend a lot of time making sure the shop floor is organized, though it usually gets messy again by noon. That’s just the nature of engineering work, I suppose. There is always a pile of scrap or some tools lying around where they shouldn’t be. We don’t mind it much. The heat can be a bit much in the summer months, but we have some fans that keep the air moving a little. Most of the guys here have been around Odhav for years, so we know the local shops and where to get a decent snack. It is a practical place to work. We don't have a fancy reception or anything like that. You just walk in and see us working. We take our jobs seriously but we are pretty relaxed about everything else. It’s just how we do things here.
