Impression Hair Art

Impression Hair Art is tucked away in the Raipur area of Ahmedabad, right near the Chabila Hanuman temple. Most of our days start by rolling up the shutter and letting the morning air into the shop on Ravad Sherini. It is a busy part of the old city, and there is always some noise from the street or the temple nearby. We have the usual setup with a few chairs and mirrors that have seen many years of use. The lighting is just enough to see what we are doing. We keep a small radio in the corner that mostly plays local news or old songs while we work. People from the neighborhood know where we are. They walk in after their morning prayers or on their way home from the market. The floor gets messy with hair every few hours, so one of us is always holding a broom. It is not a quiet place because the street is so narrow and full of life. We get to know the regulars pretty well over time. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while the scissors keep moving. The chairs are old but comfortable enough for a quick sit. We don't have a big sign, just the name that people recognize. It feels like a part of the lane now. We just stay here and do our work until it’s time to close up at night.
